Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio

Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio

By Bolling Claude

C. Bolling: "Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio" was written in 1973 for classical flute, jazz piano, string bass and drums. This "crossover" composition, combining classic and jazz, has seven movements and it was recorded for the first time by Jean-Pierre Rampal, C. Bolling (piano), M. Hédiguer (bass) and M. Sabiani (drums) in 1975 and received Grammy Award for the best Chamber Music Performance. The mix of Baroque elegance with modern swing, Suite was very popular in the 1970s and stayed in Billboard TOP 40 chart for almost 10 years.
