Flutistically Yours for flute solo
Nenad Firšt: Flutistically Yours for flute solo was written in 2004.
"Flutistically Yours" is one of several solo instrumental pieces Firšt composed around this time, including a piece for oboe solo ("Kaganove sanje" in 2002) and one for horn solo ("Včasih..." in 2007), demonstrating his interest in exploring the unique capabilities and sounds of individual instruments.
Nenad Firšt (1964) is a prominent Croatian composer, conductor, and a versatile figure in contemporary Central European classical music. His extensive catalog of works spans orchestral music, chamber music, electro-acoustic pieces, and compositions for theatre and film.
Born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1964, Firšt studied composition at the Ljubljana Academy of Music under Professor Dane Škerl. He later pursued further education in composition and conducting at the Royal Conservatory of Music in the Hague.
Firšt maintains a dual career as both a prolific composer and an active conductor. He has been the long-standing conductor and artistic director of the Celje String Orchestra (Celjski godalni orkester) in Slovenia for many years.
His compositional style is eclectic and diverse, incorporating elements of modern classicism, post-Romanticism, and even subtle influences from popular music and film scores.
