Concerto for flute No 5 in E Minor (Op. 19)

By Müller August Eberhard

E. Müller: Concerto for flute No 5 in E minor (Op. 19) was written in 1801 when Müller held principal flute position in the Gewandhaus Orchestra. The concerto exploits all the advantages of the new four-to-eight keyed flute at that period and greatly reminiscent composition style of W.A. Mozart. Overall Müller composed ten (or eleven) flute concertos from which the E minor concerto is the most popular one.
