Jean-Louis Beaumadier is a French flutist who is known as one of the best piccolo players in the world.
He initially studied flute with Joseph Rampal at the Marseille Conservatoire and continued with Jean-Pierre Rampal at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique De Paris.
Prize winner at international competitions in Geneva and Paris (Guilde des artistes solistes), he has been the solo piccolo at the Orchestre National de France for twelve years.
Jean-Louis Beaumadier has made an impressive list of more than 30 recordings and received prestigious Grand Prix of the Académie Charles Cros for his CD “The golden age of piccolo”. Jean-Louis Beaumadier has appeared on numerous concert venues across the world, performing with Sergiù Celibidache, Karl Böhm, Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa, Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Mazur, Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez to name a few.
Jean-Louis Beaumadier is a Flute professor at the Marseille Conservatoire and regularly gives masterclasses in major musical institutions around the world.
