Belmar, Eduard

Eduard Belmar is one of the most promising Spanish flutists of his generation. Born in Mallorca, he studied flute with Vicens Prats at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona, with Sophie Cherrier and Vincent Lucas at the Paris Conservatoire and with Davide Formisano in Stuttgart and Felix Renggli in Basel.

He is a laureate of ARD competition (2015), has appeared in many prominent Music festivals (Pablo Casals, Schleswig Holstein) and has collaborated with orchestras like the Orchestre de Paris, Munich Philharmonic, WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, the Orquestra Simfònica del Liceu de Barcelona, the SWR Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, and the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester to name a few.
Since 2014 Eduard Belmar is a Principal Flute at the Badische Staatskapelle, Karlsruhe and since 2016 – Principal Flute of the Frankfurt Opera orchestra.
In 2020, he took associate teacher position at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt on Main.
