Remarkable flutists
János Bálint is a Hungarian flutist who initially studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and later with Andràs Adorjàn. Winner of several flute competitions: Ancona, Leipzig, he started his career as a solo flutist in the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Since 2000 he is a solo flutist of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra. He has extensively performed as a soloist throughout Europe, Israel and United States.
He has made numerous recordings for Naxos, Hungaroton, and Capriccio labels.
János Bálint is a regular jury member of various international flute and chamber music competitions. He is a founder and Artisitc Director of the Hungarian Auer Summer Academy of Veszprém. In 1999 he established and the Doppler Music Institute in Hungary.
Currently he is teaching at Hochshule für Musik in Detmold, Germany.
