Bouriakov, Erin

Erin Bouriakov is an international soloist, chamber musician, lecturer and a teacher, a member of the faculty at UCLA.
She has appeared as a soloist with the Mariinsky theater Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Euro-Asian Philharmonic Orchestra, Musica Viva and others.
Born in Seoul, Korea, she has studied flute with Tyra Gilb at the Interlochen Arts Academy and with William Bennett at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
In 2006 she was appointed the Principal Flute of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and has orchestra experience with the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. While living in New York, she was an assistant teacher at Juilliard pre-college.
Together with her husband, Denis Bouriakov, they frequently perform and record together worldwide.
