Bruderhans, Zdenek

Zdenek Bruderhans started his career as a flutist in the opera orchestra of the Prague National Theatre. In 1959 he won the Prague International Competition which led to various recordings for SUPRAPHON label and further releases by Columbia Records in US and Japan.
In 1968, when Russian tanks came to Prague, he was able to emigrate to the Netherlands and later to Sweden.
In 1973 he settled down in Australia where he was appointed as flute professor at the University of Adelaide, whilst continuing his solo performances by touring and recording.
Zdenek Bruderhans is an author of three books on development of new flute techniques, new insight in learning process and musical performance.
