Remarkable flutists
Adriana Ferreira is one of the most acclaimed flutists of her generation. Born in Cabeceiras de Basto, Portugal, she initially studied with Joaquina Mota at the Artave music school, and with Sophie Cherrier, Vincent Lucas and Pierre Dumail at the Paris Conservatoire. She also studied with Benoît Fromanger at the Berlin Hochschüle Hanns Eisler.
She is a laureate of most prestigious international flute competitions: Nielsen (2010), Kobe (2013), Geneva (2014) and Gazzelloni.
She has been Associate Principal Flute at the Orchestre National de France (2012-2018) and Principal Flute of the Rotterdam Philhamonic Orchestra (2016). Since 2018, Adriana Ferreira is Principal Flute of Rome's Orchestra dell ‘Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. She performs regularly as soloist with various orchestras around the world and has made several recordings for La Dolce Volta label. Besides mastering the flute, Adriana Ferreira holds a Musicology Degree from the Paris-Sorbonne University.
