Franz, Jürgen

Jürgen Franz studied flute with Jean Claude Gérard, Maxence Larrieu, and James Galway. He has played in Bielefeld Philharmonic and Stuttgart Philharmonic orchestras but since 2000 he works at the NRD radio orchestra in Hamburg.  
He has played in the Richard Wagner Festivalorchestra in Bayreuth and had been invited by Lorin Maazel to play solo flute with the “Symphonica Toscanini“ orchestra. Jürgen Franz has performed in many radio broadcasts in Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan and United States and regularly appears at many European flute festivals.
Currently Jürgen Franz is Professor of Flute at the Musikhochschule Hamburg and at the Hamburger Konservatorium.
