Remarkable flutists
Wally Hase is a German flutist who studied flute with Karl Friedrich Mess, Jean-Claude Gérard and Aurèle Nicolet. At the age of 22 she became solo flutist with the Staatskapelle Weimar. Besides ongoing collaboration with Camerata Salzburg, she performs as a soloist with orchestras like Staatskapelle Dresden, the radio symphony orcherstras of SWR Freiburg-Baden Baden, MDR Leipzig and WDR Köln, and the Royal Flemish Philharmonic.
In 2006 she received German Record Critics’ Award and in 2007 for her recordings and her regular appearances on TV and radio.
Her teaching activities include Flute professor appointments at the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar and the University of Music Krakow. Since 2018 Wally Hase is a Professor of Flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
