Remarkable flutists
Gergely Ittzés (1969) is a Hungarian flutist and composer who has received his early education at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary, later at the Prague Mozart Academy and Banff Centre for the Arts. Active performer and now teacher at Tianjin Julliard, Ittzés has been a member of UMZE Chamber Ensemble and TeTraVERSI Flute Quartet. His compositions and arrangements for flute are dedicated to extended techniques and polyphonic sounds. Ittzés has published a book Flautology (2018), a comprehensive guide of his methodology.
