Sebastian Jacot is a Swiss flutist who sometimes is described as “a flute rockstar”. He started flute studies with Isabelle Giraud and mastered it with Jacques Zoon at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève.
He is a winner of various prizes, including the First prize and Audience prize at the famous Kobe International Flute Competition in 2013 and also First Prize and Best Interpretation of a Contemporary Creation at the 2014 Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition.
He gained orchestra experience as Assistant Principal Flute at the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under Edo de Waart, then was a Principal Flutist at the Saito Kinen Festival under Maestro Seiji Osawa, and advanced to the finals when auditioned for the Principal Flute position at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Since then, he has been invited as a freelance principal flutist to perform with many major orchestras and maestros around the world. Now Sebastian Jacot is a Solo Flutist at the Contrechamps Ensemble in Geneva. Apart from various appearances as a soloist and chamber musician, Sebastian Jacot gives masterclasses and serves as a jury member for various competitions: Cluj International Music Competition, Singapore Flute Festival and Conservatoire de Genève.
