Dávid Kanyó is a prominent Hungarian flutist, piccoloist, and teacher based in Budapest.
Kanyó studied at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, where he earned his degrees in flute performance and pedagogy. He furthered his training through masterclasses with international virtuosos, including Adoryán András, James Galway, and Aurèle Nicolet. He developed a particular specialty in the piccolo, becoming one of Hungary's leading experts on the instrument.
He has served as the Principal Piccolo and flutist for the Budapest Symphony Orchestra MÁV for over a decade.
Kanyó is a core member of the Modern Art Orchestra and the UMZE Ensemble (Central European Modern Music Ensemble). He is a prolific champion of living composers, having premiered over 50 new works for flute and piccolo.
He teaches flute and piccolo at the Béla Bartók Conservatory and serves as a guest lecturer at the Liszt Academy.
