Remarkable flutists
Latvian flutist Dita Krenberga studied flute with Imants Sneibis at the renown Emīls Dārziņš School of Music (school of Mariss Jansons, Gidon Kremer etc.) and the Latvian Academy of Music.
Laureate of various competitions: Concertina Prague (1980), Concurs Internacional de Música Maria Canals in Barcelona (1988), Prague (1991), she received a Leonard Bernstein Scholarship to study at Tanglewood by recommendation of James Galway.
As a soloist she has performed throughout Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and Japan, including appearances with the London Mozart Players, the WDR Symphony Orchestra in Cologne, the Moscow Philharmonic to name a few.
From 2006 to 2018 she was principal flute of the Latvian National Symphony orchestra.
Currently she teaches at the Emīls Dārziņš School of Music and regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician.
She has made several recordings, including Flute concerto of Pēteris Vasks for Wergo label (2016).
