Louvion, Sarah

Sarah Louvion is a French flutist who studied the flute with Raymond GuiotPhilippe Pierlot and Vincent Lucas. Additionally she has studied mathematics and physics.
Laureate of several International flute competitions: "Syrinx" in Rome (1999), Kobe (2001), Geneve (2001), as well as Pro Musicis solo category award in Paris (2011).
Sarah Louvion has performed as a soloist at various festivals, including MIDEM, Radio-France, and Colmar where she premiered the Sonata for flute and piano Le Rire De Sarai, dedicated to her by renown French composer Guillaume Connesson.
Since 2002 she has been the principal flute at the Frankfurt Opera House and Museum Orchestra, and regularly appears in orchestra performances throughout the Europe. As a chamber musician she has extensively travelled to various countries in Far East and Israel.
She has made notable recordings of French music for Farao Klassik label, featuring works by Jolivet, Roussel and Bauzin.
Additionally she gives masterclasses throughout Europe and Asia, has been a substitute professor at the Musik Hochschule in Mainz, Geidai University in Tokyo, and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
