Marchand, Claire

Canadian flutist Claire Marchand studied flute with Lawrence Beauregard and Gail Grimstead at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec and with Patrick Gallois and Pierre-Yves Artaud in Paris.
Additionally she broadened her studies on extended techniques at IRCAM in Paris and with Robert Dick in New York.
Besides winning the Opus Prize for best concert of the year in contemporary music, she earned the praise of Montreal’s critical fraternity for the Canadian premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino’s "L’Opera per flauto".
For more than 18 years Claire Marchand taught flute at McGill University and continue to teach at her studio in Montreal.
