Maurer, Laurel Ann

Laurel Ann Maurer is an American flutist, recording artist, and dedicated educator. She is known for her versatile career as a soloist, chamber musician, and proponent of contemporary music.
She studied flute with Julius Baker, Janne Baxtresser, and Samuel Baron, as well as took masterclasses from Marcel Moyse.
Maurer has performed widely in major venues like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center, and has been a concerto soloist with orchestras such as the Monte Carlo Philharmonic and the Juilliard Symphony.
Maurer has served as principal flutist for the Salt Lake Symphony and currently holds the same position with the Vermont Philharmonic.
A certified teacher trainer in the Suzuki Method, she travels internationally to lead training and development courses. Additionally, she is the founder and artistic director of the Vermont Virtuosi chamber music series.
