Remarkable flutists
French flautist Joséphine Olech is a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician.
Born in Paris, she studied flute with Sophie Cherrier and Nathalie Rozat at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP). Joséphine Olech received additional training at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Academy and spent three summers touring Europe as principal flute of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (2014-2016) where she performed at the Salzburg Festival and the Lucerne Festival among others.
After becoming laureate of the Prague Spring International Competition (2015), she has been invited as a soloist to perform with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Odense Symphony Orchestra, to name a few.
In 2017 she won the principal flute position in the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2019 she won the First Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Competition. She has made several recordings for Es-Dur Hamburg and Orchid Classics labels.
