Pas-Van Riet, Gaby

Gaby Pas-Van Riet is a renown Belgian flutist. Born in Essen, she studied flute at the Royal Flemish Academy of Music in Antwerp, with Prof. Schwegler at University of Music in Cologne, who was principal flutist of the Köln Radio Orchestra (WDR), and with Peter-Lukas Graf, at the Music Conservatory in Basel. She is a laureate of various competitions, including prestigious ARD (1985). From 1978 until 1983 she was principal flute of the Orchestra of the European Community under such maestros as Karajan, Barenboim, Abbado and others.
Gaby Pas-Van Riet has been principal flute of the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Stuttgart (SWR) for three years and guest principal in the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, New York Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra.
She has taught at University of Music in Stuttgart, University of Music in Antwerp and University of Music in Saarbrücken.
Since 2018 Gaby Pas-Van Riet is a Professor for Flute in Musica Mundi Schule.
