Pierlot, Philippe

Philippe Pierlot is a French flutist and renown educator.
He was the last student of renown flute teacher Joseph Rampal and finished his education at the National Conservatory in Paris with Jean-Pierre Rampal and Alain Marion. Later he became a laureate of the Maria Canals International Musical Performance Competition in Barcelona.
Since 1976 he is a principal flutist of the L’Orchester national de France (ONF). Philippe Pierlot performs as a soloist at various venues and festivals: mostly in Europe, Japan and South Korea.  
He has made several recordings for Erato, Naxos and Maguelone labels. Besides performing solo or chamber music as part of Turner trio he has devoted his time to education. He has taught at the Toulouse Conservatory and the Rueil-Malmaison regional conservatory as well has published impressive collection of education materials published by Billaudot.
