Rea, Stephanie

Stephanie Rea is a prominent American flutist, a dedicated educator, and a versatile performer known for her work in orchestral, chamber, and solo settings.
Dr. Rea holds three graduate degrees from The Florida State University: a Doctor of Music in flute performance, a Master of Music in flute performance, and a Master of Music in music theory. She completed her undergraduate degree at East Tennessee State University. Since 2000, she has been a Professor of Music at Murray State University in Kentucky, where she teaches flute, music history, and American Musical Theatre courses.
She is the author of a book titled "Flute Hygiene: A Guide to Developing and Maintaining the Habits that Lead to Better Flute Playing."
Rea's recent projects explore solo and chamber performances that merge various art forms, including her one-woman show The Next Best Thing: A Flute Professor's Tragicomic Origin Story, which combines flute performance and storytelling.
