Felix Renggli is a Swiss flutist and renown teacher. Born in Basel, he studied flute with Gerhard Hildenbrand, Peter-Lukas Graf and Aurèle Nicolet. After winning several awards at the various flute and chamber music competitions he was engaged as a solo flutist with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra where he held the position until he decided to continue his career as a soloist.
Since then Felix Renggli has performed throughout the world appearing as a soloist and chamber musician at numerous festivals: Paris, Bourges, Lucerne, Quito, Rio de Janeiro, Akiyoshidai, Ars Musica Lockenhaus etc. Working and playing regularly together with oboist, composer and conductor Heinz Holliger made big impact on his musical career.
In 1994, he succeeded Peter-Lukas Graf at the Musikhochschule Basel, where he currently teaches flute. From 2004 to 2014 he was a flute professor at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg. Since 1999, he is also the Artistic Director of the “Swiss Chamber Concerts” series in Switzerland.
