Rumer, Sarah

Sarah Rumer is an internationally recognized Swiss flutist.
Born in Zurich, Sarah studied flute at the Zurich University of Music before moving to Vienna to study with Dieter Flury, the principal flutist of the Vienna Philharmonic. Her training was further enriched by masterclasses with legendary flutists Peter-Lukas Graf and Aurèle Nicolet.
Laureate of Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition, Markneukirchen Instrumental Competition, and the Kobe International Flute Competition.
Since 2004, she has been a Solo Flute with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (OSR) in Geneva. She also plays as a guest principal with orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic and Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra.
She has made various recordings for JPC, Solo Musica, and Prospero Classics labels.
Since 2011, Rumer has been a professor at the Lucerne University of Music.
