Schmeiser, Hansgeorg

Hansgeorg Schmeiser was renown Austrian flautist. He studied flute with Gottfried Hechtl at the Musikhochschule in Graz, with Alain Marion in Paris and with Wolfgang Schulz at the Musikhochschule Vienna.
In 1992 he was appointed principal flautist of the Vienna Volksoper orchestra and was a regular guest with the Vienna Philharmonic and the Wiener Kammerorchester.  
Since 1984 he taught at the Musikhochschule Vienna, at the Universität für Musik and was head of the International Academy for Flute in Fiss, Tyrol. Hansgeorg Schmeiser has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, Japan and Korea. He recorded extensively for Nimbus Records and was one of the founders of wind ensemble Quintett. Wien.
