Shulman, Nora

Nora Shulman is a renown Canadian flutist, recording artist and a teacher.
Born in Los Angeles, she studied flute at the California State University in Northridge. She started her professional career as a co-principal flute of the Aspen Chamber Symphony at the Aspen Music Festival, and a member of the Denver Symphony.
In 1974 Nora Shulman joined the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and from 1986 to 2017 held the position of Principal Flute.
As a soloist she has performed with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Denver Symphony, the CBC Vancouver Orchestra, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
She has been invited to perform at the Guelph Spring Festival, Colours of Music Festival, the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival, the Toronto Summer Music Festival, etc.
Nora Shulman has made several critically acclaimed recordings (Berio Sequenza I; Dance of the Blessed Spirits) for Naxos label, as well as collaborated with  the CBC, Centrediscs, and Marquis Classics labels.
She teaches flute at the University of Toronto and is also a faculty member of the Glenn Gould Professional School.
