Smith, Fenwick

Fenwick Smith was an American flutist who played big part in the musical life in Boston.
He studied flute with Joseph Mariano at the Eastman School of Music. Upon graduation he started his professional career as a member of contemporary music ensemble "New England Woodwind Quintet".
In 1978 he won assistant principal flute position in the Boston Symphony Orchestra which he held until 2006.
Serving as Principal flutist in the Boston Pops orchestra, member of  various Early music ensembles and active member of the Boston Chamber Music Society, Fenwick Smith took active participation in radio broadcasts, recitals and chamber music performance
