Stachinskaya, Irina

Irina Stachinskaya is a Russian flutist and solo artist.
Born in Moscow, she studied flute with Valdimir Kudya at the Gnessin School of Music, and at the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot.
She is a laureate of several competitions: Musicalia in Athens (2000), Heritage Competition in Moscow (2004), "Rising Stars" by Sir James Galway (2010), and Maxence Larrieu in Nice (2011).
In 2006 she won the co-principal flute position in the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra but left in 2017 to pursue solo career.
Irina Stachinskaya has performed as a soloist with the New Russia Orchestra, Novosibirsk Philharmonic, St.Petersburg Symphonietta etc.
In 2014 she made her USA debut at the National Flute Association in Chicago with pianist Phillip Moll with whom she later recorded her first solo album for Melodia Records label.
