Stefanescu, Ion Bogdan

Ion Bogdan Stefanescu is a distinguished Romanian flutist and a prominent figure in the European classical music scene, known for his virtuosic performances, extensive recording career, and advocacy for both contemporary and traditional Romanian music.
He has served as the soloist flutist for the prestigious "George Enescu" Philharmonic Orchestra in Bucharest since 1993. He performs frequently as a soloist with major orchestras in Romania and internationally.
He is a founding member and the artistic director of the contemporary music ensemble "Profil".
Stefanescu is a dedicated champion of new music, having premiered over 200 works by Romanian and foreign composers.
He holds teaching positions at the National University of Music in Bucharest and the National College of Music "George Enescu".
He has a prolific recording career, with over 30 CDs.
