Stoner, Kristen
Kristen Stoner is an American flutist, composer, and pedagogue who serves as the Professor of Flute at the University of Florida (UF), a position she has held since 2002.
Her principal teachers included prominent flutists such as Bradley Garner, Karl Kraber, and Jack Wellbaum.
She earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) and Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
She has performed as the principal flutist of the Ocala Symphony Orchestra and the Florida Chamber Orchestra.
Stoner is a published composer of works for solo flute and flute ensemble, many of which are designed to bridge the gap between technical exercises and concert repertoire.
Her solo albums, including Images (2007) and The 21st Century Flute (2021), feature premiere recordings of works by female composers and contemporary American artists.
