Takeshi McGregor, Mark

Mark Takeshi McGregor is a Canadian flutist, chamber musician, and improvisor.
Born in Richmond, he studied at the University of British Columbia, Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal and University of Sydney, Australia.
Mark Takeshi McGregor is the principal flutist of Aventa Ensemble, Sound of Dragon, and Vancouver Intercultural Orchestra. He extensively performs across five continents, appearing at many prominent festivals and concert venues.
He has collaborated with many composers: Michael Finnissy, Heiner Goebbels, Philippe Leroux to name a few, thus resulting in new works for solo flute, chamber music, and concertos.
Mark Takeshi McGregor is a prolific record artist who has collaborated with Centrediscs and Redshift record labels and won the Western Canadian Music Award for his album "Lutalica"
In 2021 McGregor was honored with the Friends of Canadian Music Award.
He teaches at Vancouver Community College, the Vancouver Academy of Music, and the VSO School of Music.
