Ueno, Seiya

Seiya Ueno is a Japanese flutist, winner of several National competitions and the Jean-Pierre Rampal International Competition (2008) in Paris.
Born in Tokyo, he initially studied flute with Yuko Yamada and Megumi Horie at the Tokyo Metropolitan High School of Music and Fine Arts. In 2009, he continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with Philippe Bernold, Vincent Lucas, and Sophie Cherrier. After winning the competition in 2008, he has performed as a soloist with Orchestre National d’Ile de France, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Octet, etc.
Currently, he resides in Osaka, serving as Professor of Flute at the Osaka College of Music. He continues his role as the leader of the "S'Flute Celebration Orchestra", preparing concert series throughout Japan.
