Walentin, Alena

Alena Walentin is an acclaimed concert flutist, chamber musician, and educator.
Born in Ukraine, she received her initial music education in Moscow. Later, she moved to the United Kingdom to study at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) with William Bennett. Then she continued her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the tutelage of Philippa Davies, Ian Clarke, and Christopher Backhouse.
She has performed as guest principal flute with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, and the Halle Orchestra.
Now she is a Professor of Flute at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Additionally, she regularly leads masterclasses at the Verbier Festival and summer programs throughout Europe and Asia.
