Walker, Adam

Adam Walker is a renown British flutist, the principal flute of the London Symphony Orchestra.
He studied flute at the Chetham’s School of Music and with Michael Cox at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
In 2008 Adam Walker was appointed principal flute of the London Symphony Orchestra and year later received the Outstanding Young Artist Award at MIDEM Classique.
He has given world premieres of several flute concertos by Kevin Puts, Huw Watkins with the London Symphony Orchestra.
As a soloist Adam Walker regularly performs with the major orchestras in UK (BBC Philharmonic, London Symphony orchestra), USA (Baltimore Symphony, Seattle Symphony) as well as many other orchestras around the world (Seoul Philharmonic, Tampere Philharmonic, Vienna Chamber) and has given world premieres of flute concertos by Kevin Puts and Huw Watkins.
Adam Walker has made recordings for ROH Opus Arte Label with works by Poulenc, Messiaen, Bartok, Barber and Schubert.
Additionally he is Visiting Professor of Flute at the Royal College of Music in London.
