Jed Wentz is an American flutist, conductor and writer.
Born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, he studied flute with Robert Willoughby and Michael Lynn at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and continued studies with Barthold Kuijken at the Royal Conservatory of Music in the Hague.
As a gifted virtuoso he performed regularly as a soloist in Europe and USA, gradually allocating his energy to conducting.
In 1992 Jed Wentz founded Early music ensemble Musica ad Rhenum (Music on the Rhine) and continued touring as a soloist and conductor.
As a soloist and conductor he has made more than 20 recordings for Vanguard Classics, Brilliant Classics, and Challenge Classics.
Jed Wentz publishes articles in Early Music, teaches traverso at the Amsterdam Conservatory and is a frequent lecturer at London's Royal Academy of Music.
