Zupan, Matej
Matej Zupan is a renown Slovenian flutist, flute Professor at the Academy of Music at University of Ljubljana. From 1996 to 2008 he was the principal flutist of the Slovenian National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
He studied flute with prof. Fedja Rupel at the Academy of Music at University of Ljubljana and with Mario Ancelotti in Florence.
He is a member of the ARIART Woodwind Quintet, the Academia Ars Musicae Chamber Orchestra and Contemporary Music Ensemble MD7.
As a soloist and member of various chamber ensembles he performed in Europe, North and South America and Asia. He recorded for Slovene Radio and TV, RAI and ÖRF. Overall, he has recorded seven solo CDs and six CDs with two ensembles: Woodwind Quintet Ariart and Contemporary Music Ensemble MD7.
From 2010 to 2015 he was a president of Jeunesses Musicales Slovenia.
