Krakow International Flute Competition

Krakow International Flute Competition

International Flute Competition in Krakow came to life in 1999, transforming from the three previously held national competitions. Barbara Świątek-Żelazna, the previous rector of the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków is the heart and soul of this competition.

Flutists up to the age of 30 are eligible to participate. Besides monetary prizes, there’s a special prize for the best performance of Krzysztof Penderecki’s Concerto for Flute and Chamber Orchestra; professional flute by Yamaha as well as the professional recording session at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków.
