Trott, Laurence

Trott, Laurence

Laurence Trott is a renown piccolo player and passionate advocate of this instrument.
He studied piccolo with the famous William Hebert (piccolo player of the Cleveland Orchestra) at the BaldwinWallace College and became flute and piccolo player in the Buffalo Symphony orchestra where he played for 19 years.
To broaden up the repertoire for piccolo, Laurence Trott, on behalf of newly established "The Piccolo Society" (1975) started commissioning many new works for his beloved instrument.
The best of these commissions by Michael Horwood, David Loeb, and P.D.Q. Bach became part of the first full piccolo and piano recital in New York City in 1977 at Cami Hall, 165 West 57th Street.
Besides advocating his favourite instrument piccolo, Laurence Trott was a flutist of the Buffalo Woodwind Quintet and taught flute and piccolo.
